Tala Heart Dinner Rolls

Ingredients:
150ml lukewarm water
25g vegetable spread
245g strong white bread flour
60g cheddar cheese, grated
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon caster sugar
¾ teaspoon fast-action dried yeast
½ garlic powder
Few tbsp milk
Method:
- In a large bowl, with the help of a fork, mix the yeast, the sugar and the water. Add the vegetable spread, flour and salt. Knead the dough for 10-15 mins, if you do it by hand, or 3-4 mins if using an electric mixer.
- Add the garlic powder and cheese and knead until incorporated.
- Leave the dough to prove for 2 hours or until it has doubled in size.
- Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces.
- Roll each piece into a rope about 30 cm long then shape it like a heart.
- Place the heart rolls on a large baking tray, covered with greaseproof baking paper.
- Leave to prove for 30 mins.
- Brush the rolls with some milk.
- Bake in a preheated oven to 220°C/200°C fan/gas mark 7 for about 18 mins or until golden.
