Steamed Salmon with Vegetables and Bulgur Pilaf

We cook salmon slices, broccoli florets and carrot sticks altogether in our brand new multi steamer. It is such a practical pan that we use it as a strainer too (for example when draining pasta).

Ingredients:
2 salmon fillets
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder
1 lemon, sliced
1 cup broccoli florets
Handful of carrot sticks
Serving sauce:
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
2 tablespoons lime juice
2 teaspoons sesame oil
2 green onions, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons parsley, chopped

Instructions:
Season the salmon with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Set aside.
Fill a saucepan with about 1 inch of water. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium and let it simmer.
Meanwhile, place the lemon slices, seasoned salmon, broccoli florets and carrot sticks in the steamer pan. Place it into the pot so it sits just above the water. Cover and steam for 8 to 10 minutes or until salmon is firm and cooked through.
To make the sauce, combine everything in a bowl.
Serve the steamed salmon slices with a drizzle of the sauce and veggies on the side.
Simple Bulgur Pilaf
Ingredients:
1 cup bulgur
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon oil
2 cups hot water
Instructions:
Put all the ingredients in a saucepan. Bring it to a boil and reduce the heat to the lowest. Cook covered for 10-15 minutes or until the water is absorbed. Serve it as a side dish.
